Posted in knitting, Knitting in public, knitting in public at Hooter's on May 17, 2009 by knittinprettyNow, tell the truth! How many of you would be nice enough after a long hard day at work, to go with your husband and a bunch of rowdy men to Hooter’s for a wing party? I was the designated driver…who could argue with that? All in all…I had a pretty good time, although, I was stared at openly! I can’t believe nobody’s knitted at Hooter’s before…that’s what the manager said, anyway! I am going to start a poll! Who has knitted at Hooter’s before? I am anxiously awaiting your answer! I will give a prize to the first person who knits in Hooter’s and posts the picture!!! Make sure you send me your email info and your blog address, if you have one. I have to see the ‘proof in the pudding’, so to speak! Knitters Unite! We will not be put down!!! We WILL knit in public, wherever we PLEASE…yeah!!!

For those of you who are beginning knitters, or who would just like to learn to knit, check out these two sites for free knitting instructions and patterns. They have everything you need to know to get started. As a beginning knitter, I wasted so much money buying knitting books, magazines, you name it! I was not ready for that kind of literature. If I had just known about sites like these, especially Amy’s Knitting Help at knittinghelp.com, I would have saved myself so much grief and learned to knit better and faster! Knitting Pattern Central is an online directory featuring thousands of links to free knitting patterns. Choose from 50+ categories, including clothing, hats, afghans, stuffed animals, toys, dishcloths, and much more. Begin browsing by category at the Free Knitting Pattern Directory or by keyword with Knitting Pattern Central’s Pattern Search. There are also free knitting tutorials available, too!
Take a look at the Knitting Instruction Directory providing links to illustrated knitting tutorials, and the growing list of unique Knitting Stitches.
They even have patterns making use of a combination of knitting and crochet; browse Knit and Crochet Combination Patterns.
